Product Description
The Home Master Jr. F2 Sinktop Water Filtration System delivers exceptional water purity with its advanced multi-stage granular filter, which removes up to 93 percent of fluoride, arsenic, chlorine and other chemicals. The Home Master Jr. F2 is easy to install and features an attractive space-saving design. Its superior performance has made it one of the best sinktop water filtration systems on the market and it's all backed by Perfect Water Technologies. What separates the Home Master Jr F2 from the competition is its granular filter? Many granular filters suffer from a condition where the water bypasses the filtration media completely. A fully channeled and bypassed filter will look like the inside of an anthill, and a substantial amount of the water will pass through it unfiltered. The Home Master Jr. F2 solves this problem by using compression disks, filling the filter cartridge completely, then installing compression disks at the inlet, outlet, and between layers to ensure even filtration. Space-saving design. Home Master Jr. F2's efficient design makes it perfect for any rental home, apartment or temporary living space. Its compact design allows it to fit on almost any sink top. Plus, installation takes only a few minutes and in most cases can be completed without tools (see the installation video). This package contains a fully assembled Tap Master Jr. F2 with filter, sink faucet diverter valve, additional 15/16 x 13/16 faucet adapter, flexible connection tubing, long-reach chrome faucet, and instructions. Operating conditions: pH <7.5; feed water PSI 20 - 90 PSI; water temp 40 to 100 degrees F; 2000 ppm maximum total dissolved solids.

FAQs
Will this filter remove 100% of the fluoride?
No, it will remove up to 93% of fluoride under the stated operating conditions. It is important to note that the media used to remove fluoride – activated alumina – is contact dependent. This means that by increasing the amount of time the water spends in the media, more of the contaminant will be removed. Operating the system at less than the maximum flow rate improves the contact time and increase the removal rate.
Is Activated Alumina the same as Aluminum?
No, Activated Alumina is NOT the same as Aluminum. They're as different as Water (H2O) and Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2).
Aluminum is a chemical element with the symbol Al and atomic number 13. It is a silvery-white, soft, nonmagnetic, and ductile metal.
Aluminum oxide, on the other hand, is a chemical compound with the formula Al2O3. It is a white crystalline solid.
In summary, aluminum is a metal, while aluminum oxide is a crystalline compound made from aluminum and oxygen.
Is the filter replaceable?
Yes, it contains a replaceable filter cartridge. Change it every 3 months or 500 gallons, whichever comes first. A wrench is not needed to open the housing. Replacement filter part number: CFF2E-10
Can I test the filter performance with a TDS meter?
Not really. TDS is a measure of total dissolved solids - the bulk of which are calcium and magnesium minerals, which this filter leaves intact. As a result, very little, if any, change in TDS is to be expected. A better option is to use chlorine test strips, and view that result as a surrogate indicator for the filter’s overall performance.

The picture above is misleading; there is a white hose that goes from your faucet to the filter. It's kind of stiff, so you may want to wind it around the filter and swing it back behind your sink knobs to keep it out of the way.
The water tastes SO great. I made iced tea in the fridge with this right after I bought it, and WOW, I know why tea always tasted kind of bitter to me now; because the water was bad. Tea tastes soo good now. I can't stop drinking it. I love getting a cold glass of water. I make ice cubes with this too, and even those are nice. Fluoride free is the way to be!
I haven't yet changed the filter on it, but when I do, I'll update this review to tell how hard/easy that was too. Overall, money well spent!
Update 3-22-12: I just received my replacement filter and had a bit of difficulty getting the bottom to unscrew (probably because I waited so long to replace it, my own fault). You might have to whack the unit against the countertop a few times to break things up to get it to come loose. After that, you just twist off the bottom, lift out the old, drop in the new. The instructions say to clean it with bleach and let it air dry, but it was very clean inside mine so I took the lazy way out. If there was slime or a musty odor, I would have washed it, but there was zero slime and when I sniffed the inside it actually smelled good! Like, I-wanted-to-keep-breathing-it good. Definitely clean, which I was not expecting. Easy process!

What this company has done is taken an industrial idea and implemented it into a very functional consumer product. This type of filter housing is the very same thing I see on industrial machines all the time, used for machines which require filtered water to run. They simply added the faucet attachment and drinking water spout to an industrial water filter housing. It is a simple and brilliant idea and it works well. I will highlight the good and bad below:
THE BAD
First things first, it is an eyesore. It is a huge white monstrosity that must sit rather close to your sink. I was much more concerned with functionality than aesthetics, so this is not a huge deal for me. If that is a problem for you, though, consider getting a couple of tubing quick-connect splice connections from your local hardware store and you can then add in some additional 1/4" tubing to move it further away from the sink. Just keep in mind that you have to be able to reach both the faucet and the filter unit at the same time.
No on/off valve actually on the filter unit. This means that water will start flowing from the spout as soon as you pull the switch on the faucet adapter. So, you are left with two choices. Either you try to pull the switch with one hand while holding your cup under the spout with the other hand, or you use two hands to steady the faucet and pull the switch, then put your glass under the spout after it is already switched over and running. That second option is a waste of water, but it seems to be the easiest way to do it. It would have been nice if they put a valve actually on the unit so you could control when the water comes out.
THE GOOD
It clears up room in the sink! This was an advantage I did not foresee originally, but the other faucet mount systems invariably end up getting in the way of the usable sink space and are also difficult to use if you have any dirty dishes in the sink. This unit solves both of those problems. Because it is only attached to the faucet by a 1/4" hose, you can move it around to any position you want, so long as it is within the hose's range. The spout can also tilt and swivel. This unit has never gotten in the way of the sink's usable space and it has never been difficult to get a glass of filtered water, even with a sink full of dishes!
Water tastes good. I know there are some folks on here complaining that this unit does not remove enough fluoride from the water. OK, I suppose that is a valid concern. In my case, I just wanted a home solution to get decent tasting water from my sink. The water that comes out of this unit tastes just as good as anything that might come in a plastic bottle, and I have a virtually endless supply of drinkable water without the plastic bottles. This is a win-win as far as I am concerned. If I ever get to a point of being more concerned about specific chemicals that I cannot taste, I suppose it will be time to just put the money into a real reverse-osmosis system.
Great flow! As I mentioned before, I have exceptional water pressure in my home. When I first had the water turned on here, a weekend tech from the local water district came out to do it, and I think he may have opened up the valve to our place too far! I love the high water pressure, but I think that may be the thing that was killing our other tap-mount filters. This unit can handle the high water pressure with no problem, and it doesn't even seem to slow down the flow much. I can fill up a 12-cup coffee put in just a few seconds.
Overall I am very happy with this system. If it had an on/off valve actually on the filter housing I would give it five stars.
