Real quick review here- (will post picture's some later date). I bought this test, in addition to Test Assured "Complete Water Analysis Test Kit" (amazon athttps://www.amazon.com/Complete-Water-Test-Kit-Meter/dp/B01EUDOFOO/ref=sr_1_2?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1520117786&sr=1-2&keywords=test+assured+drinking+water+test+kit !) to utilize as a back-up to test at later date and time of day some issues I have been having. (Testing different days and times was in fact recommended!)To the issues: After, having an "Independent Lab" test water (at recommendation of a local plumbing company- as my municipality simply refused to do for me as other residents supposedly) that was coming out of a facet, in one "bathtub with jets" in my entire house! (That when hot water was turned on- everyone I have had at residence to look at this issue, eyes' and skin burnt, etc...!!!) Come to find out it was because of apparently relatively high(?) levels of "sulfur" coming out of this one fixture!I ordered this particular test kit (Complete Water Analysis Test Kit), to kind of "double" check, if one will "work" done. Total Chlorine was on upper end of 3-ppm which IAW this test kit's "Water Test Result's Ranges-EPA Maximum Contaminate Level's" is supposed to be under 4-ppm. (Oddly, when "locals" tested water chlorine results, were in some cases significantly similar!) As I was informed and had forgotten- Chlorine is in fact a corrosive, was used as Chemical Munition during World One, and will in fact eat "gasket's as well as turn clothes stiff, etc... (Guess if on upper end of "legal" limit good way to keep folks in business, in perpetuity?????) Furthermore, Nitrate Nitrogen Tests x2 were within normal limits per this kit. Cooper, was not present, but PH was low at 3-5 IAW test strips, and hardness as well, was high at 6-grains or 100-ppm IAW this test kit. Alkalinity was at 40-ppm and Iron showed zero-per this test. I "botched" the lead / pesticide tests as could not work the included pipette due to issue my hands and/or bad instructions- only real complaint thus far with this kit! Also utilized the included TDS Meter 3 and showed "total dissolved solids" from this problematic fixture at approximately 34-ppm.This is all a mystery to myself, and apparently to others, as local plumbing company never contacted me again, and "Independent Lab" that was recommended, due to supposed legality issues, could tell me nothing about test results- and I am no chemist! Apparently, I am first in my area, this local plumbing company knew of to have this done- per their recommendations. Also, per this "Independent Lab" I filed a complaint with the US EPA or Environmental Protection Agency. Instead of the US EPA getting back with me, I was contacted by a "State Agency" I had contacted numerous times in past and never once heard a word from-odd that!?!Well, back to the sulfur issue. Per an article by LIVESTRONG.COM- titled "Health Effects of Sulfur in Water" by KAREN S. GARVIN dated Sept. 11, 2017 - sulfur "is more likely found in well water than in municipal water" supply! Furthermore, in summary, can cause diarrhea, especially in children, is "harmful to livestock and pets" can "turn copper and silver fixtures brown,” ruin clothing, and cause all the issue with my plumbing in this bathtub- like "black-whitish" slime growing in piping..... So this is simply an issue I cannot fix....nor probably any other home owner, with any guarantee, other than as those that can afford them, simply having a very "expensive" water filtration system placed on their entire home!!!!! (Another guaranteed local business and equipment sales "resolution"......??????)This is tragic, as I supposedly live in a Premier Area of Alabama, on the "highly" coveted Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay- or part of the South's- Southern Riviera! (Also, some other things maybe at play, such as "local" mining operations, which are in fact to some degree on the internet but finding out what and where is actually being mined and what is done with land afterwards is a "challenge" in and of itself......!!!)Hopefully this test kit will provide similar good "quality" results as the "Complete Water Analysis Test Kit" that, as far as I can tell, is in fact very accurate and gives highly comparable readings as to what I have had done by professional technicians- thus far! Sadly, does not test "sulfur" etc.... but perhaps might add at some point...... and hope fix the lead/pesticide test to make easier to utilize.....specifically those with "disabilities" or "dexterity" issues????
