iSpring WGB32B, WGB22B Review

iSpring has 6 different models of whole house water filter to cater for water contamination in city and well water source. We classified them into 2 different categories based on the number of stages in the system.

iSpring WGB32B 3 Stages Series:

There are 3 models in this series.

The first two stages of the filtration for all 3 models are exactly the same.

  • Stage 1: 5 Micron High Capacity Polypropylene Sediment Filter – Remove dust, sediment and particles.
  • Stage 2: 5 Micron Carbon Block filter – Mainly remove taste and odor from chlorine, chloramines, pesticides, herbicides and VOC.

The last filtration stage determines which filter is suitable for your house.

iSpring WGB32B Base Model:

  • Stage  3: 5 Micron Carbon Block filter – Mainly remove taste and odor from chlorine, chloramines, pesticides, herbicides and VOC.
  • Double protection in removing water with heavy chlorine contaminations.
  • Suitable For:  City or municipal treated waters which contains high level of chlorine.

iSpring WGB32BM Model:

  • Stage 3: Iron & Manganese Reduction filter – Mainly remove iron, manganese and arsenic  from source water.
  • Suitable For: Well water which contains high level of iron.

iSpring WGB32B-PB Model:

  • Stage 3: Lead & Iron Reduction filter – Mainly remove lead, iron, mercury and many other heavy materials from the source water.
  • Suitable For: Well water which contains high level lead and iron. If iron is a concern, it is advisable to go for the iSpring WGB32BM model.

iSpring WGB22B 2 Stages Series:

There are 3 models in this series.

The WGB22B model comes with a sediment filter and a carbon filter.

iSpring WGB22B Model:

  • Stage 1: 5 Micron High Capacity Polypropylene Sediment Filter – Remove dust, sediment and particles.
  • Stage 2: 5 Micron Carbon Block filter – Mainly remove taste and odor from chlorine, chloramines, pesticides, herbicides and VOC.
  • Suitable For: City / manicipal waters which are contaminated with chlorine.

Both WGB22BM and WGB22B-PB models don’t come with a sediment filter stage. Instead, the stage 1 filter is a carbon block filter :

The last stage filter is using the similar filter cartridge compare to the 3 stage filter series.

WARRANTY:

All iSpring whole house water filter comes with a 1 year limited warranty.

INSTALLATION:

Installation is pretty much the same compared to other whole house water filter. Just simply connect the inlet and outlet pipe to the PVC header and use a proper sealer while connecting the PVC pipe.

The bracket comes with the system which required some drilling worth. Otherwise, it is pretty straightforward.

MAINTENANCE AND REPLACEMENT

All the iSpring whole house filter cartridges are scheduled to be replaced every 100,000 gallons of water, which is approximately 1 year for a family of 4.

Depends on the contamination level for Iron and Lead, the cartridge will deplete much faster as the suggested schedule.

CONS
 No softener includes in the filter.
WGB22B series doesn’t include sediment filter. The first filter will be clogged with sediment.

iSpring WGB32B and WGB22B series are considered an above average system for the few reasons below:

  • Flexibility: The housing and cartridge are interchangeable which make it suitable to swap the filter around in different housing.
  • High Capacity & Long Lifespan: All the cartridge are able to withstand up to 100,000 gallons of water, which is approximately 1 year worth of water for a family of four.
  • Suitable for All Conditions: Depending on which water conditions of your feed water, you can select different models to cater the problem.
